I am doing it on ubuntu 11.10 eclipse android emulator. After compiling i got libffmpeg.so successfully. It gets loaded on android successfully.

So I assume I need to compress, which I have had some limited success with using commands like below. The total size of this time-lapse I was using as a test was only 0.5 gig and I reduced the frame rate to arbitrarily small amounts to reduce the bit rate but it remained unplayable. I naively assumed I'd be able to mux the individual images into a video stream and that would be that (after all I can flick through the pictures at a decent rate without having any issues displaying them and I only want to be able to watch them on my computer) but whenever I use a command like shown below the resulting video is unplayable (vlc just flickers at whatever rate I set the frame rate to, other players do nothing)įfmpeg -f image2 -framerate 30 -start_number 0242 -i DSC_%04d.jpg -codec copy timelapse.mp4 The first problem I've run into seems to be managing excessive bit rates in the output video.
